Our Founder

Bishop S. R. Chambers was born in June of 1909 in Jackson, MS. Raised in a Christian home, Bishop Chambers became very active in ministry at a very early age.  He was known to love music and became well known for his preaching. He evangelized for decades, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ all over this world. There were many testimonies of miracles, signs and wonders through his prayers and preached word. In 1947, Bishop Chambers started Evangelist Temple in Kansas City, KS. The church grew nationally and internationally. Bishop Chambers was also an entrepreneur, owning resturants, apartment complexes, and washaterias. He loved taking vacations and spending time with his family.
